I Was Looking For Some Updates on The Chuwi LapBook Air Today And Ran Into Some Great Prices!

While checking the Chuwi web site today I ran across some great sale prices on Chuwi Products from Banggood. Chuwi had some sale prices listed and it turns out that a few of them are even lower when you get to the Banggood site.

Remember, this are limited time sales and you need to hop on them right away if you are interested! All links below will open in a new tab.

So let us get right to those deals!

The first is the Chuwi LapBook 12.3 at a mere $269. This little notebook has great specs and at only $284 it is a deal! (sale ends at 9 PM CDT,09-09-17)

Next we have the Chuwi Hi12 tablet at a mere $206.99. This is another great deal!

Next we have the Chuwi Hi13, 13.5 inch tablet at a great price of only $289.99.

Last we have the Chuwi LapBook 14.1 at a very low $218.99!

In the interest of getting this info out quickly I didn’t post any specs, because you can find all those at the links I posted and by doing a search on this site since every one of these devices has been written about here or has a video review posted.

For the curious I did not find any new updated specs on the LapBook Air.

So Many To Consider And This Is Creating a Conundrum! We Are Talking Notebooks Here.

To start with, I have never put a laptop in my lap so the term notebook is far more logical and therefore I shall refer to all of the following products as notebooks! Now that brings us to the subject at hand and that would be which of these new incredible notebooks should I be really considering?

Yes, one of them is a 2 in 1, but is essentially a notebook. So you nit-picky folks out there can shut up right now! I have narrowed my current list down a bit, but there are all sorts of good reasons to buy one over the other.

Almost everything on my list currently happens to be a Chuwi product, because, well, they fit into the price range and offer the best bang for the buck. However the search is still proceeding and some of the players are to be named later. The other device is a Jumper product.

Things that do not concern me as far as notebooks go:

  • I don’t give a damn how well it plays games
  • I really do not care about stylus support
  • As long as it is less than 50 lbs I can tote it easily
  • Thin is nifty, but not at the expense of battery/ports
  • Touch screen is okay, but not a requirement
  • I hate touch pads, so I do not care if they are crap

Things I do need:

  • Intel N3450 processor minimum
  • Full HD resolution minimum
  • 4-8 GB RAM
  • Onboard storage to be either 128 GB or have a slot for a SATA 3 SSD
  • No skimping on ports, (don’t be Apple)
  • Decent battery life. At least 6 hrs or so, 8 hrs+ is better
  • 12.3 – 14.1 inch screen

So all the above being said, here are the players, so far.

Chuwi LapBook 14.1

It has plenty of ports and a decent FHD screen and a super low price! You can pull the back off the unit and add an SSD and increase your storage and disk speed! At the current price of $239, it is a bargain! Check out the specs or watch the videos I have posted, it is a great machine.

Chuwi LapBook 12.3

This one has a super hi-res display and a little panel on the bottom to add your SSD. Very slick, all metal build and reasonably priced! This thing has a lot of advantages  along with the fantastic screen and can currently be fount for about $308!

Chuwi SurBook 2 in 1

This one is off my list based on the video I posted the other day! This one has a touch screen with the same super hi-res display as the LapBook 12.3 and can be purchased with either 64GB or 128 GB onboard storage and a microSD card slot. You can go to the Chuwi site to find this one. So far the best deal is grabbing one of the indiegogo deals at their site! For $439 you get the back-lit keyboard and stylus included.

Jumper EZBook 3 Pro

This is an all metal, thin and light notebook with a 13.3 inch screen and an easily upgradeable storage system via an M2 SSD drive. Add in 6 GB RAM and an Apollo Lake N3450 and we have a good device. The reviews are excellent, it has a good keyboard, a full HD 1920 x 1080 display and is currently on sale for only $230 on Gearbest. You can find the video review I posted on it right here.

Chuwi LapBook Air

We do not have all the specs on this one just yet, except it is supposed to be a full HD display, with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB SSD on board storage. This one is still just a like, not a draft pick.

That is all for this evening,

Tim

Chuwi LapBook 14.1 Versus Chuwi LapBook 12.3: Which One Is Better For You? (Videos)

We have had several articles on here on both the Chuwi LapBook Apollo Lake  tablets this year and I thought it might be time to break down all the hoopla and get to the facts. Currently they are both on sale at Gearbest.com. The LapBook 14.1 is currently here for $236 and the LapBook 12.3 is available here for $299.

Both of these are excellent budget laptop/notebooks,(whatever your choice of naming is), and both offer both advantages and disadvantages. Most of this is dependent upon YOUR needs. Please always  remember that premium and pretty isn’t always better. We know that from looking at Apple devices that look premium and offer substandard specs, batteries and ports.

So do read everything here and then make your choice based on needs, not looks nor size, nor aesthetics.  Keep in mind that either of these devices are an excellent choice, but there may be one tiny item that will make your choice.

At the end of the article I will be linking all the best reviews on both these products. I would also appreciate comments on this post. It isn’t that difficult to do,  just do not add a URL and make sure to do the ReCaptcha button below the comment submit button first!

Okay let us begin, display size? Who Wins?

  • Chuwi LapBook 14.1 : 14.1 inches X
  • Chuwi LapBook 12.3: 12.3 inches

Display Resolution:

  • Chuwi LapBook 14.1 : 1920 x 1080
  • Chuwi LapBook 12.3: 2736 x 1834 X

RAM:

The winner here is hands down the LapBook 12.3 with 6 GB beating out the 14.1 by a full 2 GB

Storage:

  • Both have 64gb eMMC onboard
  • The LapBook12.3 has a handy access door to insert an M2 SSD X
  • The LapBook 14.1 has a slot but you must remove the entire back cover to add the SSD.

Both have WiFi a/b/g/n/ac

Construction:

  • The LapBook 14.1 sports plastic  ?
  • The LapBook 12.3 is mostly metal ?

Incidentally they are both quite light, so the last spec, unless you believe that bigger and heavier and metal is better, is absolutely irrelevant.

As far as webcams go, the LapBook 12.3 sports a slight edge, but neither are fantastic. They will suffice just fine for Skype, etc.

Both devices offer the same microSD port, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 full size ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack and downwards firing stereo speakers.

Battery Life:

  • The LapBook 14.1, 7+ hrs X
  • The LapBook 12.3, about 6 hrs

So now you have to ask yourself a few questions. So do you want a larger display? Or perhaps you prefer a bit more resolution and can deal with a smaller display? Are you a fan of metal builds or is plastic okay? Do you multitask a lot? Then RAM is your deciding factor here. Or perhaps you have limited space on your desk? Then size may be a deciding factor. Perhaps you would prefer the easier upgrade to the M2 SATA SSD drive?

There are a lot of questions involved. For instance the fact that the money you save on the LapBook 14.1  is enough to buy a 128GB SATA M2 SSD drive. But on the other hand, maybe you really do not want to take the entire ass-end off your new laptop/notebook, so you can deal with the better, but smaller display and higher price?

So all of the above being said, here are, in no particular order, all the reviews and upgrade videos on the aforementioned notebooks.

There are several other video related to both of these tablets that have been posted on this site, so feel free to do a search to find more.

Once again, the  LapBook 14.1 is currently here for $236 and the LapBook 12.3 is available here for $299.

But for now, that is all the typing I have left in me at this hour….goodnight America…and the world.

Today’s Video Worth Sharing: Chuwi LapBook 12.3 Versus The Jumper EzBook 3 Pro

This afternoon we have a great video comparison between the Jumper EZBook 3 Pro and the Chuwi Lapbook 12.3.

Suffice to say both of these have similar specs and I am not going to cover them because they will be covered in the video we have below from Chris over at Techtablets.

Both of these were mentioned in my Back to School Recommendations post about a week ago. They both have advantages and disadvantages. It all depends on what exactly is important to you.

So without any further input from me, watch and learn.

That is all for the moment,

Tim

My Suggestions For Back To School PC Devices For 2017

We Test so you don’t have to!

We are about a month or so from back to school time and off to college time so these are my suggestions for great economical PC’s with Windows 10 or in 2 cases a Dual Boot Windows and Android. Remember most of these devices will be coming from China, so now is the time to order.

Now remember to choose your devices based on need and not  price or prettiness. Sure you can’t go wrong with a Samsung or Apple but you will probably spend far more than you should.

So let us get right to the list:

  • Number 1 on my list would be the Chuwi LapBook 12.3 with a whole slew of features. It has 6 gb of ram, it has a fantastic hi-res display and decent speakers and lots of ports. You can find the details and a great price on it at this link…right here. It is currently priced at $284 for 5 more days! You can find the video review on this one right here.
  • Chuwi Hi12 with a K480 keyboard

Next on the list is the Chuwi Hi12. This server is running on it right now and it has a great display (2160 x 1440)  and amazing battery life. Yes you may want to get a keyboard for it, but I would go with a Bluetooth keyboard and a case/stand., which is what I use.  You can find it right here for under $210. Yes it is a dual boot!

  • Third on the list is the absolutely super Chuwi HiBook Pro. Now I normally run this site on the original HiBook which is great but the Pro model gets you the incredible  super hi- res 2560 x 1600 display and a Z8350 Intel processor. This is possibly the best 10.1 inch tablet you will find with the specs it has which like the Hi12 include 4 gb ram and the ability to use it with an attached keyboard or Bluetooth (smarter), and a dual boot system. The best price I know of is right here.
  • Jumper EZBOOK 3 PRO

One more device here and that is the Jumper EzBook Pro 3 which gives us an Intel Apollo Lake N3450 Quad Core  CPU and a 1920 x 1080 display. It also can be easily upgraded with an SSD to expand storage. Check the post I wrote last month for the video on how this is done. This one is currently selling for $230 on Gearbest.

  • As always I would also suggest checking out Refurbees.com as they carry quite a few decent/fast/low cost laptops!

Incidentally this post was written in the Chuwi HiBook using the Logitech K480 keyboard and yes it is getting a day off road trip!

The HiBook on a Road Trip!

That appears to be all I have for now, but keep tabs on us, we here at HiBook Labs never quit searching for cool stuff!
