The Kindle Fire is Really a Good Little Tablet!

About a month ago I wrote about installing Kodi on a Kindle Fire and today I have just been playing with the little tablet.

It really does work well for basic web surfing chores. What it does best is fit nicely in my back pocket just like my old ME572 Asus tablet did!

Sure it does not have the best display nor a lot of RAM but for a $50 tablet it gets the job done! Of course putting Google Play store on it and installing the Google keyboard really makes it super useful. I am actually writing this post on the Fire right now.

There are some minor issues that would be cured with a faster processor but once again they are minor. The screen does go a bit nuts when I try to add a link while editing a post, but not every time. Like I said, minor.

All the apps I have tried so far work very well, video playback is good and WiFi connect speeds are good.

So if you are in need of a small, dirt cheap tablet I would suggest looking into one of these!

That is all for this morning,

Tim

A Message From Your Information Provider…Click the Damned Ads!

What!? You thought servers ran for free?

Howdy and hello folks all over the Planet Earth! This post exists for one purpose alone and that is to ask you very politely to click on the ads on this web site!

I have no idea how many visitors to this site or Tim’s Tablet Web Sitehave any clue just how many thousands of hours I put in each year to give you the latest tablet/mobile news, run the servers here and generally do back flips to make sure everything stays online.

I absolutely love testing tablets and enjoy writing about them and doing videos and all, but this entire site and others depend on a few clicks.

If you are going to buy something from Amazon, then click one of the ads on this site! It simply doesn’t matter what you purchase, just start with any one of the ads!

The same goes for any Gearbest ads you happen to see, which are few on this particular site, but this article will end up on Tim’s Tablet Web Site because I tend to write most of my stuff on the tablet server here and then it also gets posted over there. (incidentally, “over there”, is roughly 5 ft from the Tablet server here, sometimes less.

So I have relaxed the rules here on comments/registration and I would like a little reciprocation. Of course you can choose to ignore me, but what do you think pays for all this free info?

Incidentally the ads will be cut back considerably if just a few folks buy some stuff, which you were going to purchase anyway!

Additionally, everything I have ads for. I  either have used/tried or have read enough to consider purchasing. Face it the post here is being written to a Chuwi HiBook from an Asus X553SA, so I DO use what I write about!

Thanks,

Tim

I am Not Sure if Anyone Out There Has Noticed the Chuwi HiBook Price Reduction on Amazon

1463184918531512662I am aware from the ads I run on here that Amazon has reduced the price on the Chuwi HiBook 10.1 inch tablet to $199.99. That my fellow tablet nuts is a decent price!

If you avoid the pitfalls of purchasing the associated keyboard at an inflated price and get yourself a Bluetooth Keyboard, you will be one happy camper!

On the other hand, you may wish to consider the Chuwi HiBook Pro that is available on Gearbest.com currently for about 4 more days, for only $197.59! The difference? A better display resolution on the the Pro, with a 2048 x 1536 display and an 8000 mAh battery which should last a bit longer than the standard model which has a 6600 mAh battery.

The choice is yours folks, but right now is the time to buy one if you have been considering it!

Still Waiting on My Chuwi HiBook, Shipping Info Has Yet to be Updated.

This post written on the Asus X553SA

The current situation on my new Windows 10/Android Chuwi Tablet is simply that it apparently takes forever for them to actually ship one of these tablets. 5 days does seem awfully long to stick a tablet into a shipping box and send it out for delivery.

The reason I ordered this tablet from Amazon was to decrease the wait time. My thoughts are that when you choose free shipping and do not fall into the “Prime” trap, that you end up being penalized even if you are a regular customer.

The only other reason I can think of is that the folks at ChuwiDirect are actually installing the new Windows 10 updates before shipping.

Either way, the wait is killing me. But I am still excited about the new tablet, because the Dragon Touch X10 needs a good backup.

The other downside would be someone purchasing the DTX10 before I get the new tablet. Which would mean leaving the server running only on the Asus X553SA notebook, which isn’t a great option.
