It IS Saturday and Once Again Time For The HiBook News! Today: PC Stuff?

What? WHAT!! You might be asking what is up with PC news? Well, read on my 10’s of visitors and learn. The reasons for this post will soon become obvious to you…yeah YOU!

As you may already know from the previous post, we here at HiBook Labs never quit doing crazy stuff and this weekend was no exception!

I have tested 3 different operating systems on a Mini PC, (Zotac CI323), and I have moved a web server from a Dell Tower onto a tiny, silent, fan-less PC.

Let us put this all into perspective. Sure that tabletserver here runs on a mobile device almost 95% of the time. In fact it mostly runs on a tablet PC That is the key, a TABLET PC, meaning a small, supposedly under powered device that in truth can do far more than one would expect.

The Mini PC I am currently testing out is small enough to fit in my laptop bag and if I had a monitor at work to plug it into, it  would be every bit as portable as a laptop.

I won’t go into the details since those were covered in my previous post, but I will tell you that we will soon have some screen capture videos of the device in action. In the meantime you will have to settle for the usual crappy video below.

Tonight, We Have Another Video Worth Sharing! This one on The Cube iWork1X Tablet

Cube iwork1x 2 in 1 Tablet PC

So as I did laundry tonight I had nothing to do except surf the web a bit and I once again ran across a video worth sharing! This one is about a month old, but this looks like a decent Tablet PC/Keyboard combo.

I will let you folks be the judge and make sure to subscribe to the channel it is on so you can get notifications of the latest reviews from Andrew over at AMDtech.

This is an 11.6 inch tablet with a full HD IPS display and you can find it on Gearbest, com.

Here is the video…as promised it the subject/title,

Finally Someone Registered! Now Hopefully We Will Get An Article Or Comment Out of Them!

Since I changed the security system on the server here and also banned all the Russian email addresses, registrations have pretty much ceased to exist.

Today I almost overlooked the new registration from early this morning when I moved the server over to the Chuwi HiBook after returning home from work. But I caught the error, did a backup and then moved the server back to this machine.

This will become less of an issue once I get the Hi12 since it will be my work PC and the HiBook will become the primary server again. I will assume the registrant will edit their profile and perhaps post a comment or some sort of article. You see, if you register and post stuff, you don’t get deleted, if you do not post some stuff, well, then you get cleaned out when I do the database cleanup every few months.

It is actually pretty easy to register, although I know the reCaptcha system can be a pain to deal with. But hey, if you like the site, why not contribute? I do try like hell to keep track of when we get a new user, but I have numerous servers to run and the constant shuffling of the site from one machine to another occasionally causes me to lose a new user.

Tonight Another Video Worth Sharing, This One on The Teclast Tbook 10S and Keyboard.

Teclast Tbook 10 S 2 in 1 Tablet PC with Stylus

Tonight we have our second installment of “videos worth sharing“. This one is on the Tbook 10S with keyboard from Chinese manufacturer Teclast.

I guess I could bore you to death with all the specs and details, but the video covers all of that!

So without further ado, here is the video, once again from Andrew over at AMDtech.

That’s all we have for tonight, so far,

Tonight’s Post…I Got Nothing!…..Except…Shoe Goo!

There are occasions that I simply don’t have a damn thing to post.  Yes folks I don’t have anything!

These things happen! I know, the Galaxy S8 was officially announced today, but seriously, who gives a crap? After all after considering the  Galaxy Note 7, I would stay stay away until I was sure the new phone would not burn my house down!

I apologize to Samsung, but…burn me once…I can deal with it, burn me twice….Yeah, not wanting those flames.

So I guess I did have a bit more to wax poetic over, but still, Shoe Goo will make your old sneakers usable again!

That is all,

Tim
