Upgraded the Chuwi HiBook Linux Lite VM to Version 3.2: Video

linuxlite30_screenshotAs I promised in an earlier post today, I upgraded the Linux Lite virtual machine on the tablet to Linux Lite 3.2. There are quite a few improvements but I concentrated on the Linux Lite Desktop widget which shows you system information and also when the last updates were performed.

The entire video below was shot on the Chuwi HiBook, and I am writing this post on it also, using the LogiTech K480 blueooth keyboard and a LogiTech wireless mouse.

I shot about 5 segments of video using SimpleScreenRecorder and then edited it all together using Openshot, which is a great, free, video editor available in Linux.

The video audio isn’t perfect, but it is damned decent and stays in sync unlike other screen recorder packages I have tried. So watch the video and learn some stuff and if you do not already have Linux Lite on your PC/Tablet, give it a try! The video is below:

Updated the Asus X553SA Linux Lite VM to Version 3.2

linuxlite32
Linux Lite 3.2 with desktop widget.

I updated the Linux on the Asus X553SA notebook today. The software upgrade is quite easily done with just a few clicks. The latest version includes a nice desktop widget that shows system info and when the last update was run.

It is a handy tool to remind users that they need to install updates. You can turn it on or off and set opacity, etc. There will be a video later today. Click the image at the top of this article to see the widget in action. The Chuwi HiBook will get the same upgrade treatment this evening. So I will shoot the video on that device, which will either appear on this post or I may simply create a full post devoted to said upgrade. As mentioned earlier, here is that video!

Am I the Only Sane Human Who is Absolutely Fed Up With Apple Macbook Crap?

apple-rotten1
Apples are Craptastic!

Perhaps it is only me, but folks, let us face the reality here, Apple products are directed at a segment of the population that believes in Unicorns, Global “Climate Change” , and thinks, however misguided, that battery powered cars are wondrous. Either that or they are too simple minded to learn how to do anything.

First off, electric cars are THE way to go, but Hydrogen fuel cells are the answer, not batteries. Save those for your cell phone or your flashlight ya morons.

If you are caught up in the whole global climate change thing, then you are either gullible or too stupid to realize that those garnering your hard earned tax dollars to study this crap, changed the name a few years back when studies showed that average temps really hadn’t changed much beyond what climatic cycles would explain.

So that leaves the other 85% of the world’s population who are either too stupid or brainwashed to realize that a $1500  craptastic Apple /Macbook ain’t worth even one quarter of that price. Find me something that makes a Mac/Apple product worthy of its price and I will eat my words, but for the foreseeable future it appears that I will be starving.

If this post offends you in any way, you might be an Apple disciple, report at once for a brain transplant.

Chuwi HiBook Works Almost as Well as Asus X553SA in Linux, Video

Print
Yeah, Linux on a Tablet in a VM!

Well kiddies, after a lot of playing around we have a video shot on the Chuwi HiBook using the  Simple Screen Recorder. There are a few audio glitches, but overall it appears to work quite well.

So all that being said, I guess we should show you that amazing video, right?

Nahhhh!

Sigh, okay since you insist, here it is! There are a few audio glitches, but overall SimpleScreenRecorder stays completely in sync audio/video wise and it works quite well!

Note here: this entire post, and of course the video, was done on a Tablet! A Chuwi HiBook, running Windows 10, using a Linux Lite 3.0 VM.

Issues with the Latest Windows 10 Update? MicroCrap Returns to Form

dog-poop-microsoft
Can you smell the crap? Why yes, it’s MicroCrap!

Yesterday MicroCrap sent an update which was installed on my Asus X553SA notebook with no apparent issues….until today.

So far today my notebook has locked up on me in Chrome and when running a virtual machine at least 5 times!

I have had this laptop/notebook since last year and I have never, EVER had lockups such as these!

The real worry here is that the Chuwi HiBook, just finished running/restarting after that same update! I can always wipe out a notebook PC and begin again, but a dual-boot tablet is a completely different story.

So, here I sit waiting for anyone to leave a comment or I guess I will just wait for the tech sites to describe the horrors associated with this update!

Thanks again MicroPoopy…
