So it Has Been Awhile Since I Posted a Video of Any Sort, This One Covers the Asus Z580CA Game Performance.

Dead Trigger on The Z580CA

Tonight I did a short video on game performance with the Asus Z580CA Super Tablet. The game performance on this device is absolutely incredible! Obviously one must take that with a grain of salt, considering my abilities as a gamer are nil.

However, I have found that by and large there is simply nothing this little 8 inch, (ok, not so little), tablet won’t do, primarily because of the 2.3 gHz processor and the 4gb ram.

Keep in mind when watching the video, that this is a screen capture and possibly suffers a bit from the software and whatever processing Google does to it when posting to YouTube.

Now onto the the video, and remember, you can buy THIS tablet for a mere $175 by checking out Craigslist at this link! Before you think about this at all, you have to ask yourself one question…is there another tablet that could be a server/play games and be a great movie viewing platform, at this price?

After a Full Week of Running a Server on the Asus Z580CA I have Reached Some Conclusions.

The Asus Z580CA

For the last week I have run this server almost exclusively on the Asus Z580CA tablet and am very pleased with the results. The Dragon Touch X10 handles server chores quite well, but having 4gb of ram really does make a difference. The Asus can be used for multiple chores while still running the server with no visible lags on the device at all.

I am in fact using the Asus to type up this post tonight, although the server is running on the Dragon Touch this evening. I am always amazed at how well it works when using a Bluetooth keyboard and wireless mouse.

So now onto performance as a server. As I stated previously it runs flawlessly as a WordPress platform. More importantly, when setup correctly, it will run easily for 12 hrs on battery. The way this is done on this device is to simply plugin a wireless mouse and the WiFi will never sleep. The screen will stay off all day and therefore the prime user of battery is eliminated.

With the Dragon Touch the only way I  can get the wireless to stay awake is leaving the screen on, fully dimmed with Chrome running on a blank page, with no tabs open and therefore mostly black screen. For those who are thinking why not set the wireless to always on, and that simply doesn’t actually work on either of these tablets. Why, I do not know, I have tried every possible setting in settings, to no avail.

My conclusion is that overall, the far better server platform is the Asus Z580CA. I know, most folks are not interested in running a web server on their tablet, but for those who are, or maybe just want to try it, the Asus is the better choice.

Asus Z580CA Due to Get an Update to Android 6.0 According to a Reliable Source.

Asus Z580CA
Asus Z580CA

Today I confirmed once again, with a pretty reliable source, that the Zenpad S 8.0 (Z580CA), will be getting an update to Android 6.0. Considering how great this tablet is, this would be a major update making it easily the best 8 inch tablet for the money on the market.

So as you may or may not know,  I have one of these. As a matter of fact as I write this post, I am using the Asus Z580CA as a server. It really does this well, in addition to all the other great things it does.

This news has me having second thoughts about selling it. Put it this way, if that update arrives before I sell it, then I will probably pull down all the ads I have posted for it or raise the price up to around $230 which is still great considering it costs $299 right now on Amazon.

busy to reply me back. Actually, I can not longer come to pick it up
in person as planned, As i  just had a change in my work schedule but
I believe I’m ok with the condition as seen on the advert as well as
the price stated. I’m ready to make instant purchase and my mode of

As soon as these info. are provided, payment will be overnight to
you and I will let you know once I mailed out the check and get back
to you with the tracking #. I will also add an additional $20  in

Please feel free to hammer the email above to death….

That is all,

The Asus Zenpad S 8.0 Still Surprises Me With Sometimes Unreal Battery Life.

12 hrs of being a server, 56% battery left.

Today at 7:10 am I unplugged the Asus Tablet from the USB C charging cable and plugged in my wireless mouse so that the WiFi would stay alive.  Now look at the time and battery percentage left when I finally remembered to check it tonight. Yeah, that’s 12 hrs and still at 56% battery.

Obviously the screen hasn’t been on all day until I took that screenshot, but it appears I can leave it running as a server for at least another 8 hrs or so. I believe I shall be using it as my server until such time as someone buys it.

I guess your perspective on the battery might be different, depending on how you use it, but as a little web server, it really is great. That is all for this little short post, not much else to say.
