It is the end of a long weekend and time once again for the Dragon Touch X10 Report

Screenshot_2016-05-30-21-03-41 The X10 has survived the update to Android 5.1.1 and eventual return to Android 4.4.4 and is back to running as in its previously reliable and  super useful condition. As I stated in the article I wrote about the update it was fine unless you wanted to run a web server.

The server of course still is running on both the Dragon Touch X10 and my Asus Z580CA tablet, which should change soon when someone out there realizes what a great price I am selling the Asus for. At which time I intend to begin experiments on a Chuwi Hibook 10.1 inch tablet with Windows 10 and Android 5.1.1.

I am looking forward to running a virtual machine running Linux, inside a Windows 10 tablet. It should be quite an interesting experiment in playing about with the limits of tablets in general.

For now I am still happy with the Dragon Touch X10 and I still use it everyday to write articles such as this one and do other general web chores as needed.

Today I Ran a Comparison Tablet Server Loading Test Between The Dragon Touch X10 and the Asus Z580CA.

asusZ580CA-test4I visited pingdom.com and did some site/server testing today, mostly out of couriosity and found out that for the most part there was little difference between the two tablets in how fast they delivered a web page.

The average load time for the Dragon Touch was 5.023 seconds.  The Asus loaded pages at an average time of 4.976 seconds. So for the most part the results were inconclusive because I have no way to know if there were any other visitors on the site at the same moment. The Dragon Touch did pull off the fastest load time at 3.94 seconds so technically that makes it the winner, but not really, considering the average speed.

Below are  the results of those tests, first, the Dragon Touch.

So I am not really certain which device makes the better server, they seem rather equal to me.

Folks Who Have Visited the Site(s) I Run May Wonder What The Tablet HQ Looks Like

IMG_20160528_013153For those folks who have visited more than one of my websites there may have come a time when you wondered, “he occasionally mentions HQ, I wonder what that place looks like?”.

So tonight I fired up the camera on my trusty BLU Studio Energy2 phone and grabbed a few shots.

The images below are actually what “HQ” looks like on your average night. It is a desk, with 2 keyboards, 2 mice (mouses?) and lots of flat screens. So from left to right in the image below, we are looking at the Dell monitor attached to a Optiplex 745 PC running windows 7 and 8 gb ram with a Linux Virtual Machine taking care of the web server duties for all of my sites except the Dragon Touch Test server. The LogiTab Dragon Touch X10 is in the middle and the Super Asus Z508CA is on the right.

Damn, I need to do some dusting around here…..! However, bottom line, you do not need killer hardware to run some servers.

I THINK I HAVE A BETTER THAN AVERAGE UP TIME ON MY WEB SITES.

While I occasionally have the usual power failures around here I am actually quite pleased with my stats for the last 30 days.

I check the main server about every 4 or 5 minutes and the Tablet server here about every 6-7 minutes. The site I use is called Uptime Robot and works very well! The basic service is free and I actually don’t need much more than that.

So today after a short power ouage, which of course had little to no effect on this tablet server because it was running on battery and contunued to chug right along. The main server, running on a Dell PC of course simply turned off and stayed off.

However, the overall uptime for both sites is well over 98% of the time. There are very expensive hosting sites touting 99% uptimes, so I am  pretty happy with what I have running here at HQ.

Incidentally this post was created on the LogiTab/Dragon Touch X10 and the server at the time was the Asus Z580CA Tablet. The Dragon Touch was in need of a charge-up and since I have yet to receive one viable offer on it yet (The Asus is for sale for the clueless), I will continue to use it as my backup server.

My Asus Zenpad S 8.0 is for Sale! No offers yet!

IMG_20160411_203041So below is a copy of the ad I have running on Craigslist. Does anyone see a problem with this, because I have yet to get a viable offer.

This is possibly the best tablet spec-wise I have ever owned however, it is just a wee bit to small for my needs.
The specs are great and this thing sells on Amazon right now for $269, so with the case/USB C to standard USB adapter this is a deal!

Specs are as follows:
2.3 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Processor
4 gb Ram
64 GB onboard storage, plus a microSD card expansion slot.
2048 x 1536 display
8 inch screen
Case, folding/stand up
USB C to full USB adapter (yeah, plug in your mouse and you have a mini notebook)
Bluetooth 4.0
Wireless a/b/g/n/ac
Original box, manuals, charger, cable included.
Only serious inquiries, only cash, no trades, no delays, no shipping.
If you call, leave a voicemail! Texts work best because I WILL be sure to answer them!
Price is negotiable but don’t expect charity here, this tablet is only 2 months old!
I am now reducing the price to $230! This is a high end tablet at a low price.
