How difficult is it to setup a tablet based server? The answer is, it isn’t!

You don't need a PC!
You don’t need a PC!

If you have a spare tablet sitting around in you house with about 1gb ram, you could be running a nice little server. Programs such as WordPress make it really easy and there are several apps out there for a super reasonable price that will allow you to run a server on either an ARM or Intel based processor.

I use the KSWeb app and it works on both my tablets. In fact I just tested this site on pingdom.com and it scored better than 50% of the websites tested!

You can find lots of good info over at what was originally my tablet server site at tablets.yourfreewordpress.com. I probably posted at least 30 articles on how to set things up and make an HD7 Asus tablet run as a server.

Basically all you need to do is to upload your files to the proper directory and setup your port forwarding to point to the IP of your tablet. It is just that simple.

BLU STUDIO ENERGY 2, BATTERY UPDATE.

Screenshot_2016-04-28-23-46-59No video this time but just a few pics. The battery life on this inexpensive smartphone is still rocking!

The battery is still lasting roughly 3 days minimum. I now use my tablet less than half as often as I used to because my 5 inch smartphone can do it all and the battery lasts darn near forever!

This will probably not be my last post concerning this phone but once more I will say: if you need a decent size phone with a battery that makes the flagship phones look like crap buy one of these!

Yeah I still have almost a day!

I don’t know how you folks are bypassing the registration confirmation but I will be deleting everyone who hasn’t posted shortly!

Time to clear out the dead weight again.
Time to clear out the dead weight again.

I completed cleaned off all the old users a week ago and yet here we are with 20+ non posters again.

I don’t know how you folks are getting around the registration procedure, but suffice to say as soon as I figure it out the users will once again be dumped. There simply is no way to have 9 people register on the site but yet only have one visitor all day long. Therefore I suspect a bot of some sort.

I am sorry if you really intended to post, because if you get deleted then you did not post.

A Technical Question Here For Hackers/Programming Geniuses…How to Show My Current Battery Status On The Web?

Drone_BatteryYeah, this might seem trivial to many folks, but it is a tech question of importance to me. What I need is either an app that could screenshot the tablet and post it immediately to an accessible directory on the server here or an API that would let me see my current battery status live.

The reasons why are multiple, but I won’t bother to explain them. However the possibility of doing this seems somehow to be extremely useful to myself.

So if you are one of those hacker types or just a genius programmer or you already know about an app, let me know! Register and post a comment or better yet, create a new post and let the world know!

Thanks!

Today’s Technology is Truly Amazing! 10 Years Ago We didn’t Even Have Smartphones or Tablets, Now I Can Run A Web Site On One!

Economy_Technology_02_Think about that folks. Here I sit posting this new article, from a remote location, onto an 8 Inch Tablet (the site is running on the Asus today), sitting at my house, via wireless and the Internet.

I have a wireless keyboard and mouse and when I get home I will move the site back over to this Dragon Touch X10 that it is being written from.

I remember being amazed at dual core processors, with big heatsinks and fans, inside a PC. Now we have quad core or octa-core processors than can handle almost anything you can dish out.

The displays are clear and crisp, the response time incredible and there are no more fans or heatsinks!

I know that we all take all this for granted, but just take a minute and think back to 2005, when there were no iPhones, no Androids, no tablets and laptops had a battery that weighed 3 lbs and a run time of maybe 2 – 3 hrs on a battery.

Life is really good now folks!
