Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air (2018),Hands on Detailed First Impressions

Originally posted 2018-02-02 18:15:07.

Tonight we have a video from Chris over at TechTablets on the new version of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air for 2018.

This version sports most of the same hardware as last years model, with a few improvements such as the CPU. This one has the newer Intel Kaby Lake-R quad core CPU (8th gen) and is faster, much faster.

It also includes 8 GB ram in the unit in the video although I understand that there is a 16 GB RAM version coming soon.

It has a very nice 1920 x 1080 IPS display, decent speakers and a precision touch pad. In addition it offers 2 full size USB 3.0 ports and a USB-C 3.1 port for charging, data and video out and also a full size HDMI output port.

With 256 GB SSD storage and room for expansion this device is quite appealing.  This review also takes a peek at the internals and gives us some Geekbench scores and some thermals info. There will be a full review in roughly a week or so.

So I advise checking out the TechTablets channel and subscribing if you like this kind of tech info. So let us proceed to the video!

This one is available on Geekbuying.com currently at $959.99.

That is all I have for now,

Tim

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Smartphone

Originally posted 2017-09-10 19:52:21.

I don’t get all that excited about smartphones, but this particular phone/phablet includes a huge 5300 mAH battery and that makes it worth sharing.

This smartphone has a 1920 x 1080 display on a 6.44 inch screen. It also packs 4 GB RAM and a 64 GB ROM. It is a dual SIM device or you can install a microSD card to add even more storage.

With a 3 day battery life this one is well worth a look, especially considering the price. This video is courtesy of Andrew over at AMDTech.

So let us get to the video here.

This device is current available at Banggood for $269 which is a decent deal considering the specs!

That is all I have for now,

Tim

Today We Have a Video Double Feature: It Is Time To Learn About The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 Slider Phone! (2 Videos)

Xiaomi has been releasing a lot of great phones this year. Some folks might think far too many, but this mid-range priced phone looks to be the one that will solve that stupid notch issue once and for all!

At a price of roughly $475 USD for the 6 GB RAM/128 GB ROM variant and with great specs we are talking about a 6.39 inch smartphone that can easily compete with many current flagship devices at a very reasonable price.

Remember the old slider phones? Yeah, notch issue solved, you slide it up and your face unlock works, your selfie camera is there and slide it back down and you have an almost full screen display! No motors, just a simple old idea that worked for years a number of years ago.

This simple innovation along with the wireless charger being included in the box and a reasonable price is really making Xiaomi look like a brand to keep an eye on! Hopefully they will get off the US government’s shit list so that perhaps we can get their phones through US retailers and not wait 20 days for delivery from China.

The phone has the following basic specs:

  • Snapdragon 845 Octa-Core Processor
  • OLED Display 6.39 inch, 1080 x 2340 FHD+
  • 6/8/10 GB RAM
  • 128/256 GB ROM
  • Android 9 Pie
  • Front Cameras 24 mp and 2 mp
  • Rear Cameras Dual 12 MP
  • Wireless charger included in the box!

Gearbest will be carrying this phone soon and they do have some specs posted, but the prices are obviously incorrect.

So you can find out more info by watching both the videos below!

Another Video Worth Sharing: Xiaomi Mi A2, A Solid Budget Device With Only One Issue

The Xiaomi Mi A2 is a very decent phone that is currently just a bit up there in price but if you want stock android (AndroidOne) and like that experience this might be the budget phone for you. It has some limitations such as not having microSD expansion, but if you can live with the 64 GB version the price is still quite reasonable and it does cover all the USA bands on GSM.
