Today’s First Video Worth Sharing: The Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop

Today we have a video from Chris over at TechTablets on the Xiaomi Mi Gaming laptop. This is a solid gaming laptop, but has a serious flaw when it comes to the keyboard. It also happens to be quite expensive at roughly  $1280 currently for the config tested in the review.

It is available with an Nvdia GTX 1050 or GTX 1060 GPU. Thermals are not an isse at all, but fan noise is rather high and the choice by Xiaomi to add some macro buttons in a poor area of the keyboard  makes for some issues.

Those issues aside, as far as game performance goes, this is a very solid performer.

So all that being said, make sure to visit the TechTablets YouTube channel and subscribe if you want to see a wide variety of tech items tested and reviewed. Now let us proceed to show you that promised video!

As usual make sure to check out our new YouTube channel for the occasional video worth watching!

Tonight’s Second Video Worth Sharing: The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Smartphone Full Review

My regular visitors, all 10 or so of you, may remember that I posted an initial unboxing from Chris over at TechTablets on this smartphone.

You can find that initial review right here.  So make sure to check that one out also!

The bottom line here is that Chris likes this phone at its price point which is considered to be budget, but the camera on the back is good and the fingerprint reader is good and all things considered this one may well be worth the price!

The detailed specs overall are good, so I am not going to waste your time reading since you can get them all from the video!  I would however wait for the Global ROM so you can get all the 4G LTE bands if you are in the USA.

So let us get right to it, and make sure to check out the TechTablets channel for the latest in tech reviews!

That should be all for now, except to ask folks to visit my new YouTube channel,

Tim

Tonight’s Video(s) Worth Sharing: The Huawei P20 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Smartphones

Today most of my favorite tech reviewers were going nuts over the new Huawei P20 Pro smartphone. So at the end of this post I will post a few of those videos. However I am now going to rant a bit before I post said videos.

I will soon be starting up my own channel and you will never see me being a schill for these huge companies that live off of the desire of the masses to keep up with the Jones’.  I absolutely only provide info because I know folks are interested, but when it comes to long and detailed posts, you will find me recommending what works.

I don’t care if a phone or a tablet or a notebook feels premium, I simply care what a piece of technology can do for me. I also care about providing info not based on feelings/looks/latest trends, instead I look to provide viable info so that you can pick out the right product and or learn how to fix/upgrade or otherwise implement basic workarounds for your far less costly products.

If your smartphone is painted with Krylon, will it work less efficiently? Ask yourself that twice before answering, “Aw, hell no!”. If your smartphone comes in an ugly color will AT&T or Verizon not put through your calls? “Aw hell no!”.

If your notebook/laptop has an ugly logo, will it function differently? “Aw, hell no!”. If you can’t edit videos and play games on your PC/notebook and you do not do either, does it make a difference? “Aw, Hell no!”.

If you are not getting the point , skip down and watch the videos below, because they may be of interest to your brainwashed, mass market minds. (no offense here folks, perhaps one day you will remember this rant and say, wow, that guy was sooooo damned right!).

Okay, let us proceed to those cool videos on the latest phones, but keep in mind what I have said and listen for the cues about “premium feel” and ignore them. Concentrate only on performance and then think about whether or not you need one. If you are part of the 15% who do, yay for you!

Okay, in no particular order, here they are…keep in mind, I like all these reviewers, but sometimes, I just get annoyed by mass marketing!

The next 2 are from Ben’s Gadgets and he redeems himself with the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S review….

That is all I have have have for this this evening,

Tim
