Today’s Video Worth Sharing: USB C is Great Until You Need to Use a Full Size USB Device!

As stated in the title I was in need of being able to connect 2 devices using full size USB connectors to my HiBook this week. As luck would have it I have somehow lost my USB to USB-C adapter!

USB-C might be the wave of the future, but it is damned useless if you have older keyboards, flash drives and dongles and if you are like me I am sure you didn’t run right out and switch everything to a USB-C device/cable/flash drive.

So I will let the video explain all the details and as usual, make sure to check out our channel, leave feedback in the comments section and also to like our videos and subscribe!

Below is the video as promised….

That is all for now, except please subscribe to our channel or click those big donation buttons on the website here!

I Found a Product That I Might Actually Need, An Inexpensive USB Dual Band Adapter (Dongle)

USB Dual Band Adapter

The fact is that many tablets these days only have wireless a/b/g/n and in some cases these can be rather iffy on range when the tablet has an all metal body. Yeah, like the HiBook and my Hi12 if it ever arrives.

So what is the cure for these minor annoyances? Why not use a USB port for a cheap wireless dual band adapter?  So I poked around looking for one and found a few on Amazon and a few on Gearbest.

The best bang for the buck that I found was the COMFAST CF – 913AC USB adapter with speeds up to 600mbps. At a price of $10.69 for the next 6 days, it seems like it might be worth checking out.

The specs are listed below:

● 600Mbps wireless transmission rate. It is with bi-directional USB 2.0 port and the mini size craft
● 2.4GHz / 5.8GHz dual frequency, IEEE802.11a / b / g / n / ac wireless standard
● Built-in intelligent antenna system with strong signal
● Supporting WPS one key encryption and a variety of encryption, safe and reliable
● Compatible with mainstream operating systems ( Includes Win 10 )
● Low power design, energy conservation and environmental protection
● AP function, it can be used for wireless router or AP

So this is on my list of possible purchases once I have my hands on the Hi12. Feeling in a lucky mood, I went ahead and ordered one of these! What the hell, less than $11!!!

That is all for now,

Tim

The testing Progresses, next step trying out the Micro-USB port, with a full USB Device

OTG Micro-USB Cable
OTG Micro-USB Cable

So as we all now know, the Dragon Touch can use a USB wireless mouse via it’s full size USB mouse. That’s neato right? But it’s time to see what that Micro-USB port can do.

So I purchased an OTG (On-The-Go)  cable for a whopping $1.40 from Amazon and when it gets here the testing shall begin.

I will also be trying it out on my Asus ME572C tablet. So when this testing has progressed beyond waiting for the adapter, there shall be follow-ups!
