Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: The Microsoft Surface Book 2 15 Inch 2 in 1 Notebook

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is technically a tablet and a notebook, but at 15 inches, it isn’t exactly a handy to hold device, but it is surprisingly good. The video we have tonight is from Andrew over at AMDTech and is a full review of the Surface Book 2.

Of course this device has one huge downside and that is the astronomical price tag, but let us face facts folks, if you need a ton of processing power and like to do video editing and absolutely need to be able to draw on the screen with a stylus, well…yeah, it is certainly worth it.

We are looking at an 8th gen, Core i7 processor and an Nvdia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU. Yeah, lots of muscle here!

The display is outstanding, the web cam is great and there just isn’t a lot one can say that is a big negative. Battery life is good, the keyboard and track pad are great.

Sure, I have zero need for one of these myself, but there are folks who visit this site that might want to know all about this device, so I am going to quit typing and get you folks right to that video!

That is all for right now, as usual check out our donations link if you find this site the least bit useful,

Today’s Video Worth Sharing: Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 i5 Review

Today’s video worth sharing gives us a full review of the Microsoft Surface Pro (2017 version) and comes to us from Andrew over at AMDTechReviews. This is a premium 2 in 1 device and if you are willing to spend the cash, a very good device.

It does have its downsides such as the keyboard and pen costing extra and boosting the price to well over $1000 bucks, but on the other hand it sports a fantastic display and excellent performance and battery life.

Like all “premium” type devices you will be paying too much in my opinion, but, if you need some kick-ass performance this one can get it done! This one is definitely for business users who can right off the price as an expense.

Now all that being said, let us get right to the video so you folks can make your own decision!

That is all for now,

Tim

Yesterday We Got a Video Of All The Nice Things About The Microsoft Laptop, Today We Get The Reality of How Bad It Could Be:(Video)

Microsoft Surface Laptop

Since I recently shared the video about what the cool features on the horribly overpriced Microsoft Surface Laptop were and I did mention the issues with upgrades or repair, I thought I would throw in the following video from the folks at iFixit.

This laptop just earned itself a ZERO on the repair-ability scale they use. You probably have a less than zero chance of upgrading the lower end version and the high end version is simply more of the same.

Below you will find the video….

It is sometimes hard to believe that people buy this MicroCrap/Apple garbage, but then again, folks buy a Lexus or Acura also instead of getting a Toyota or Honda…so I guess PT Barnum had it right, there is a sucker born every second!

Today’s Video Worth Sharing: The Microsoft Surface Laptop (Review)

Microsoft Surface Laptop

The Microsoft Surface Laptop is a premium 13.5 inch laptop which is expensive, but offers a few nice features. Before we get into the details I did post up a few days back about just how unrepairable which also means non-upgradeable these laptops are. That is simply something to keep in mind before purchasing one of these.

Primarily if you purchase the lower end version, you are almost totally screwed as far as upgrading the SSD/RAM yourself. Simply put you won’t have a very pretty laptop after cutting the fabric open to get to the internals.

So below you will find the video from Andrew over at AMDTechReviews and as usual it is great.

That is going to be all for this evening,

Tim

Microsoft Windows 10 Does Some Strange Math Occasionally

This morning my Chuwi HiBook received a Windows update, no big deal, but I did receive a warning about disk space before I went ahead and installed the update.

So immediately after getting the update installed I ran Disk Cleanup and told it to dump system files, such as the previous version files.

I wish I had the time this morning to do a screenshot but it was almost 8 am and I needed to be over at work in about 3 minutes, so I will just have to tell you what happened.

When I told it to clean up those system files Microsoft Winderz 10 told me I could free up 4TB of disk space, which is rather amazing since I am fairly certain that the onboard storage here on the Hibook is only 64gb. I was hoping that perhaps I had received one of those super rare 5TB eMMC chips, but alas when finished I had a mere 11.6gb free, which is okay, because that is where my “C” drive normally sits space-wise.

I did however kick myself all day for not waiting long enough to do a screen capture of that.

But the lesson here is that if you have a small amount of hard disk space, make sure you run disk cleanup afterwards.
