Okay, Sometimes Plans Just Do Not Work Out! But There is a Silver Lining, Like an Asus Z580CA Tablet!

EVERY-CLOUD-HAVE-A-SILVER-LININGSo my overall plans for my recent purchases was to use the new BLU Studio Energy 2 as a backup, because it has a huge battery. But, no matter what I do, including wiping the device twice, it won’t run the KSweb app as a server.

However, the new tablet, well, another story totally. Not only does the Z580CA from Asus run it, it does it just as fast as the Dragon Touch X10! The ME572C had definite issues with speed when running as a backup, but the new tablet just handles it perfectly!

This is probably a simple issue with the BLU Studio Energy 2, but it is minor, because the phone itself is a huge step forward from the BLU Studio X it replaced. The display is better, the storage is better and the battery is HUGE! I intentionally ran it all day, leaving it set at a 5 min display timeout and left it running on WiFi, downloaded a bunch of stuff and still had 65% battery after 14 hrs of heavy use!

So in both cases I am happy to have purchased the BLU Studio Energy 2 and the Asus Z580CA (also known as a Zenpad 8). So there will always be a backup server here…just not the one I had intended.

Incidentally the Blu Energy 2 is still getting a minimum of 3 days battery life after over a year of use!

This one isn’t exactly perfect but overall it is quite the nice ultrabook for productivity tasks.

I will leave all the specs to Andrew, so enjoy the video, make sure to check out his channel and subscribe!

Let us proceed directly to that video right now!

Asus Misses Huge Chance to Keep Customers Happy.

Crash and Burn, that is What Happens when You Overlook Support after the sale.

I absolutely love my Asus Z580CA tablet, but roughly a year after this tablet was released to the public I am still running Android 5.0. Asus has failed miserably in the update department on what is essentially one of the best tablets they have ever produced.

This failure is the reason that they lag well behind in sales to Samsung and Apple. No one wants to deal with a company that produces a product and then once sold forgets the customer. Ask anyone in any business of any kind and they will tell you that in order to get returning customers you must, without exception, update and support the products you sell.

In today’s highly competitive global tablet market there is absolutely zero excuse to not update a product as soon as possible. What is sold today is wonderful, but you always must consider repeat customers and word of mouth.

To be fair, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the tablet on Android 5.0, it runs well, does everything perfectly, but to say the least I am extemely disappointed by what I and many other customers see as a total failure in at least attempting to get what is essentially a flagship device onto the latest software.

I do realize that this article is not going to help me sell this tablet, but I believe in giving my honest opinons when it comes to devices/companies and what I perceive to be a lack of proper customer support.

So to paraphrase a movie line….”Asus, You have failed me for the last time”.

Asus Z580CA/Z580C Finally get Android 6.01 Marshmallow Update, Only 1 yr and 2 months Too Late.

It has been over a year and two months since the Asus ZenPad S 8 was released. This was the best tablet on the market at the time with one huge glaring omission and that was the complete and total failure of Asus to provide and update to Android 6 which was already released and available. This was probably the most moronic and monumental failure ever relating to a premium tablet, by any company,  at least until Samsung released the Galaxy Note 7, which is almost a tablet, with exploding batteries.

However, back to the subject of the Zenpad S 8, yeah, there is now an update for this device to Android 6.01. A bit late, but if you still have one of these, a bit of nice news! You can grab the update from the Asus Support site. It does not appear that this update will be pushed out over the air, so you are going to need to go the download and install route via the aforementioned link.

So I guess my source was correct back in May when they informed me that the Asus was getting the update. It’s too bad I no longer have that tablet to run tests on considering I upgraded to a larger dual-boot tablet and no longer worry about keeping up with the latest Android version. However this tablet is still available on Amazon.com.

A sad commentary on the Interweb…Scammers are Idiots, Worse Yet, Honest Folks Can’t Read Past the Headlines…

Click image ONLY if you have a brain!

So as I pointed out in my previous post I have had very few offers on my Asus Zenpad (Z580CA) tablet that I am selling so I can obtain another tablet with Windows 10 on it to test.

But the sheer idiocy of folks on Craigslist is almost making my night a rather humorous one. After all, how many of you folks out there do not understand the phrases; “no trades” or “cash only” or “no shipping”? How much more blunt could I be?

Then we have the bonus morons who text from an easily looked up area code that makes them dumber than a box-o-rocks while also offering more than the tablet sold for on release? Seriously, do people fall for this lame ass scammer shit?

Now moving on, someone in the Nashville//Clarksville/Murray/Cadiz/Paducah area buy the damned tablet, and you non-local folks/scammers, please go-the-hell away! For honest folks the link is RIGHT HERE!

For those who wish to flood the scammers text inputs here are a few phone numbers:

1-727-308-4506 and…1-859-927-1666<– (pure scammer on this number)
