Tonight’s Video(s) Worth Sharing From CES 2018, Dell XPS 15 2In 1 and HP X360 2 In 1

Both of this evening’s videos come to us from Andrew at AMDTech who has been covering the CES  2018 show this week.

They are both quite short but as usual well done and full of useful content.

Both of these devices feature the new Intel Kaby Lake-G processor which has the AMD Graphics GPU on board.

As I stated they are both short videos but worth viewing and as usual I recommend subscribing to Andrew’s channel for all sorts of great tech info.

So let us get right to the videos both of which are below.

That is all for now,

Tim

A Very Interesting 2 in 1: The Chuwi CoreBook 13.3 Inch Tablet/Notebook

So Chuwi is getting the CoreBook device ready although it is still in prototype stage. They have made a many good choices so far such as upgrading to 8 GB ram and a 128 GB SSD.

Those updates are all well and good, but they need to learn to use the correct words when describing their future product. This device with have a Core-M 7Y30 processor, which is the best of the core M line as far as speed goes, but in their video they refer to it as the fastest Intel processor. Nope, not even close, good, but not a Core i5 or Core i7, not even close.

Yes, if you are part of the Indiegogo campaign you will end up with the 8 GB ram/128 GB SSD and the pen and keyboard. Well yippie, these should be included with every purchase at one cost! If you want to compete with Microsoft Surface devices and Apple, you damn well better offer all the pieces parts in one single package.

Lastly, a little door on the back of the tablet section in order to upgrade that SSD! They figured this out on the LapBook Air and the LapBook 12.3, so why the sudden loss of common sense?

The video is interesting and featured below and it is a few months old, but Chuwi needs to better understand the market and step up their game.

This could be a great 2 in 1 device, but if Chuwi half-asses it, they won’t sell too many!

Below is the video.

That is all for this evening,

Tim

Today’s Video Worth Sharing: Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 i5 Review

Today’s video worth sharing gives us a full review of the Microsoft Surface Pro (2017 version) and comes to us from Andrew over at AMDTechReviews. This is a premium 2 in 1 device and if you are willing to spend the cash, a very good device.

It does have its downsides such as the keyboard and pen costing extra and boosting the price to well over $1000 bucks, but on the other hand it sports a fantastic display and excellent performance and battery life.

Like all “premium” type devices you will be paying too much in my opinion, but, if you need some kick-ass performance this one can get it done! This one is definitely for business users who can right off the price as an expense.

Now all that being said, let us get right to the video so you folks can make your own decision!

That is all for now,

Tim

Today’s Video Worth Sharing: Snapdragon Always Connected PC (HP Envy X2, ASUS NovaGo)

Today’s video worth sharing gives us a short overview of the new “Always Connected” Windows 10 notebooks/laptops/convertibles/2 in 1’s. These are offerings from Asus and from HP which offer a PC with Windows 10 running on a Snapdragon processor.

Also known as Windows 10 on ARM these PC’s offer excellent performance, mid-range prices and most importantly about 20 hrs of battery life. At this time there are no full reviews on these as they are not yet available, but they should be very soon!

Performance appears to be very good and of course the ability to use your 2 in 1 or convertible tablet/notebook for 20 hrs is a game changer!

So let us get right to the video!

That is all for now,

Tim

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: The Chuwi SurBook 2 in 1 Tablet/Notebook

The Chuwi SurBook seems like a decent device until you do the math on the price versus display versus storage.

For roughly the same price or even a bit less you can grab a LapBook 12.3 with the same processor and display, minus the touchscreen. The upside to the LapBook 12.3 is of course the ability to upgrade to an SSD drive in a much larger size as it is also with the LapBook Air, which also has 8 GB RAM

So this device, while not bad, is simply priced too high for what you get, in my opinion. However it is still a very high end device at a relative low price versus a Surface  type device.

That is all for now,

Tim
