Today’s Second Video Worth Sharing: Samsung Galaxy Book2 Review: Almost Nailed It…

This one comes to us from Andrew over at AMDTech and is the usual thorough, well produced review we are used to seeing. Make sure to click the link above to visit his YouTube channel for a ton of other tech reviews on a wide variety of products!

Today’s subject is the Samsung Galaxy Book2, a 2 in 1 tablet keyboard combo using Windows on ARM via a Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 SoC.

Battery life is covered and the device appears to be worth a hard look if you want a 2 in 1 type device, with stylus support and always on connectivity!

With a stunning 3:2 ratio, hi-res display the 12 inch device does not disappoint. But for all the specs and pros and cons watch the video below!

Today’s First Video Worth Sharing: More Testing on the Hi12 With OBS Studio and Openshot

Yesterday I posted about the file size issues on the Zotac when editing a file from OBS Studio into Openshot. Of course the videos looked great, but they went from about 23 Mb to 299 Mb! I solved that issue with a small free program called Handbrake and today I decided to do some testing on the Hi12.

So I did a few videos, edited them together and surprisingly, they were not all that large after editing, maybe 3-5 Mb bigger, But I needed to know if Handbrake would work on the Hi12 as well as it did on the Zotac.

The net result was a decent video with very, very little loss in quality and it reduced the final output from about 98 Mb down to roughly 11 Mb!

So Handbrake could be a great product for you to reduce file sizes by roughly 80% or more. It is also easy to figure out and works quite fast. You can find it right here and it is free Open Source software!

So let us proceed at once to this video! Make sure to like the Video and Subscribe to the new channel, tell all your friends, share it!

After Literally Hours Of Playing About With Settings, I finally have Success Using OBS Studio on the Hi12 Tablet!

It took me virtually all night to get the OBS Studio, display capture software to function on both the HiBook and the Hi12 tablets! Primarily it was simply a matter of resetting the recording devices setting from the task bar in Win 10.

Who knew that these were set to about 5% from the factory? I always thought they just had crappy microphones!

So that being solved it was simply a matter of find a decent resolution for output that wouldn’t bring the processor to a grinding halt when writing back to disk. I settled on the only 720p output available with the better sampling rate and it appears to work well.

The entire video was shot on the Hi12 AND edited on it in OpenShot!

So here is a short video of the results!

As usual, please like the video, please share it and make damned sure to subscribe!

Today’s Hi12 Report! This Thing Is Still Fantastic After More Than a Year!

So today I decided it was time for another video for our new YouTube Channel on High End Cheap Tech. The video went well but it took more than 3 hours to process the video due to the idiot (me) operating the keyboard here.

But I finally got it done and here I am sharing it, although somehow about 4 hours of my day has gone into the toilet.  I won’t go into the issues, although a power failure killed the first edit on the Zotac PC. Yeah, we can’t plan for those now can we?

I also found a way to shoot nice steady screen shot video at 1080p using the worst phone mount ever created, but it did get the job done.

So all of that being said, there is one minor correction in the video and that is the voice over should mention that I use the Hi12 to EDIT, not shoot all the videos I do for work. The camera’s on most inexpensive tablets are horrible, the camera on my old BLU Studio Energy 2 is still quite good!

So let us get right to the video in question and as usual, please like it, please leave comments and please subscribe and share!

In a few minutes we will have another video worth sharing from Andrew over at AMDTech on the HP Envy X2 ,Win 10 on ARM 2 in 1 notebook.

That is all for the moment,

Tim

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: The Jumper Ezbook 2 SE 12 Inch Notebook

This one comes to us from Linus over at TechLineHD and covers the Jumper EZBook 2SE 12 inch notebook. This is a low end notebook that can do most things a student may wish to do, but by no means is it anywhere near bleeding edge.

However it has ok specs, works fine, has Windows 10 and is roughly the same spec-wise as my Hi12 Tablet except for the 2 GB Ram and 1600 x 900 screen resolution.

But…if you simply need to go to the web, watch videos and edit the occasional document in Word or Excel, this will get the job done. In other words enough for a casual user or your child in school to use at a great price!

Personally I would only recommend this to folks needing a notebook for schoolwork, etc. But It could be very decent for your kids or as a family PC to use when everything else is being used and the current price of $150 makes it quite appealing.

So make sure that you subscribe to the TechLineHD channel if you like these reviews and now let us get on to that short review!

This product is available here for $150 as of this posting.

That is all for now,

Tim
