It Might Be Time For A New Phone: LeEco Le Pro 3? Maybe, Watch The Videos!

If you have ever poked about on this site you will know that I am a huge fan of my 5 inch BLU Studio Energy 2 phone. The main reasons I love it are the AMOLED display and the huge 5000 mAh battery.

But now I am thinking, it is 2 years old and although it works great for phone calls, takes decent photos and has shot over 100 videos for the car dealer I work for, perhaps it might be time for an upgrade?

So while sitting around this evening looking at various videos on YouTube full of the general mindless entertainment I somehow ran into a few videos on this particular phone. One is about a year old and the other one was released today. Bottom line is that this phone has all the specs I need to do what I want with a phone.

Yep, the Android is old, version 6.0, but my phone has 5.0. Yep, the company that makes this phone is on shaky financial ground and I will probably never see an update…but….this is twice the phone I have right now at a super price and it works on AT&T!

The specs are quite decent, and the basics listed below:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC
  • 5.5 inch IPS display at 1080p resolution
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 64 GB storage (ROM) [no microSD storage available]
  • Android 6.0
  • 4070mAh battery and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0
  • 16 mp rear camera/8 mp front camera
  • NFC,Bluetooth, etc.
  • Fingerprint scanner

This would be an upgrade for me and probably result in many annoying videos extolling the virtues of this device, but, hey, that is what I do here! I test stuff, I try to break it. I am thinking this phone might easily have enough storage to run the tabletserver.com web site! That of course will not happen unless you folks click the links or hit the big donate button down below. Of course I will also run some sort of giveaway, if we happen to hit our donations goal! Just think you could end up with a BLU Studio Energy 2 for free, well, minus whatever you decide is fair for all the work I do to give you fair and unbiased test/tech information.

So donate button first…then right below a few videos on this product!

This one is from TechTablets…

If you do nothing else, at least check out the link to the phone here!

That is all I have for now,

Today’s Video Worth Sharing, Doogee BL1200 – Don’t Buy This Phone

This morning we have a review of the Doogee BL12000 smartphone and it comes to us from Chris over at TechTablets.

This phone promises a whole lot and delivers on none of the promises. It claims to have a 12000 mAh battery but yet doesn’t provide nearly the screen on time you would expect. Sure it does 14 hrs but my 5000 mAh BLU Studio Energy 2 does at least 9-11 hrs with less than half that size battery.

They also claim to have dual rear cameras but one is simply a fake camera that does nothing.

So here is the review from Chris where you can find all the details of this less than stellar device.

That is all for now,

Tim

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing is On…a Smartphone?

One of the great things about being the editor, admin, supervisor and chief cook and bottle washer of your own site is that you can post any damned thing you want. Now obviously I do not post a lot of smartphone stuff here, but this one is an exception.

The ZTE Axon M foldable smartphone is a very cool, first of it’s kind device! Considering it is made by ZTE and not Samsung or Apple or Asus or HTC, etc, it is very cool!

Currently it appears to be on AT&T and can be found here. I would guess other carriers may pick it up soon. The price is hefty, but certainly less than an iPhone, so this one may be one to consider.

On the other hand you might just want to kick back and watch the waterfall of foldable devices begin and be able to say “remember when ZTE was the only one with a foldable device?”.

This one comes to us from the Unboxing Therapy channel on YouTube and was posted today. I would suggest subscribing to his channel because if nothing else, he is entertaining.

So let us just get to the video and quit with the chatter…

That will be all for now,

Tim

Today’s Video Worth Sharing: The Essential Phone PH-1 Unboxing And Review

Today’s video comes to us from Andrew over at AMDTech and covers the Essential Phone (PH-1). A 5.7 inch, bezel-less smartphone built of premium quality materials with a few nice features.

Unfortunately one of those nice features is not the price tag which is a staggering $699 for a not quite ready for prime time device. However this phone might appeal to a certain segment that wants very decent battery life, good gaming, plenty of storage and a good display.

On a personal note here, I know that a bezel-less display sounds great, but in reality it just means you will be accidentally touching the screen all the time. My BLU Energy 2 phone has some mighty tiny side bezels and I am still constantly hitting the screen with the edge of a finger or thumb.

Keep in mind of course that I use a phone primarily to check email, watch the radar and occasionally go to my work web site when I am on the landline with a customer.  Oh yes, I also use it primarily for…wait for it…yes, you guessed it, making phone calls. So obviously I am not the guy who is going to recommend that anyone purchase a phone that costs what a very good laptop costs.

All that being said, let us see what Andrew has to say about this particular device.

That is all I have at the moment,

Tim
