The HiBook News: OBS Studio Running on a HiBook? Can This Be Real?

Infinity Screen Captures?

Today I ran across a video on YouTube about running OBS Studio on an old, low powered tablet PC called a HiBook! I said to myself, well this can’t be true, but then I remember of course it is!

After all it was me who spent literally hours, to finally get OBS to work on High End Cheap Tech!

So after about a few dozen tries, I figured out how to get a decent screen capture (display capture) video on OBS on a supposedly obsolete/under-powered tablet.

The best part is, after shooting this in two segments, I edited the video on the very same, lowly X5 Z8300 Intel Atom tablet.  Yes, Openshot failed to add a transition at one point, but I’ll take success over disdain anytime!

The video below will mention how to remove background noise and show you that sometimes hardware decoding can get the job done even when you are saying to yourself, “hardware decoding, are you fuc&%$g kidding me?”

That’s all for now kiddies, maybe later I will try this again on the HI12? Leave a comment on YouTube if you want me to try it also!

Just a Quick Post About Ben’s Gadget Reviews. Where Did it Go? (Video)

The story here is a very short one and you can simply skip to all the details by scrolling down to the video.

I was checking out videos from folks I subscribe to on YouTube tonight and I noticed that when looking at my post from over a month ago, that ben’s gadget reviews was not working. So I proceeded over to YouTube to find that the channel no longer existed.

So I did a quick Google search and found his new, hopefully temporary channel, explaining what happened.

So the video below will give you details and you can also find his new channel right here!

That is all for the moment,

Tim

Just Another Decent Tablet I Ran Across on Gearbest This Evening. Cube iWork10 Flagship Tablet PC

Originally posted 2017-03-22 19:52:27.

The Cube iWork 10 Flagship is another dirt cheap 10.1 inch tablet that you may want to consider. It is priced at a mere  $150 or roughly $199 if you want to get the keyboard.

Those are fairly stellar prices for a 10 .1 inch table with the following specs:

  • OS: Android 5.1, Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Cherry Trail X5-Z8300 Quad Core 1.44GHz ( up to 1.84GHz )
  • Screen resolution: 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA)
  • 4 gb DDR3L Ram
  • 64 gb on-board storage
  • microSD slot supports up to 128 GB
  • USB-C port
  • micro USB port
  • Micro HDMI out
  • WIFI: 802.11b/g/n wireless
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • Battery Capacity(mAh): 7000mAh

If you are like me and run a Bluetooth keyboard this becomes very attractive.

Below you will find a video review, keep in mind this tablet has been around for quite awhile…

That is all for this evening,

Tim

Another Video Worth Sharing: The ALLDOCUBE X1, 8.4 inch Tablet!

This one appears for now at least to be a very decent  8.4 inch tablet, at a reasonable price and with some good specs! This initial unboxing and review comes to us from Andrew over at AMDTech and covers the basics.

The basic specs are listed below:

  • Android 7.1 OS
  • 8.4 inch IPS 2560 x 1600 display
  • Helio X20 deca Core processor
  • Mali – T880 700MHz GPU
  • 64 GB ROM
  • Dual Sim or Sim and microSD card
  • WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac wireless internet
  • 13 mp rear and 8 mp front cameras
  • Battery: 4500mAh,

So the specs are pretty decent, although we should wait on the full review to see how it does on battery life.

All the above being said, make sure to visit Andrew’s YouTube channel and  subscribe to it! Now let us get right to that video!

This device is currently available for around $259 at this site.

That is all for now,

Tim

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: Need a Great Free Screen Capture Program? Try Out OBS Studio

Tonight we have a video I just posted on our new channel here on YouTube. The easiest way to show folks what is happening on your screen is to capture your display and there are a number of tools out there to do this. Last night I stumbled on to OBS Studio.

This is an excellent screen capture program for Windows, Mac and Linux. It also does live streaming! Yeah and the bonus here is, it is free!

In the video posted below I barely scratch the surface of using this product since I was just using it for the first time and I only watched one quick beginners guide on its use. However there are literally dozens of excellent tutorials on YouTube on how to use this software.

So let us get right on to the video and see just how well this software works on my very “Cheap Tech” Zotac PC with an N3150 processor.

That is all I have at this moment, except to request that folks visit the channel, subscribe, and “Like” the videos and share them!
