USB C to Standard USB adapters have arrived for my Asus Z580CA Tablet.

USB C to Full Std USB Adapter

So I ordered these little jewels about 4-5 days ago and they arrived today, 2 days ahead of schedule. In fact I am using one right now as I write this article using a wireless mouse from Logitech, via the new USB C-Std USB adapter.

The price on these wasn’t bad, all told including shipping about $6..40 each for 2. The construction appears to be excellent and having a spare is a bonus, simce many newer devices are now coming with the USB C type port.

So I now own 2 LogiTabs! Well technically 2 tablets capable of running a mouse and keyboard. But you get the point right? The real point here is you don’t need expensive 2 in one tablets when you can purchase inexpensive keyboards and a wireless type mouse and use it with any Tablet out there. Most of them will do just fine!

Below is a short, crappy as usual, video I shot demonstrating mouse functionality.

I AM MILDLY IMPRESSED WITH THE All In One WP Security PLUGIN.

all-in-one-wp-secI had installed and tested this app back when I was firt running the site in 2014 and it wasn’t a very good plugin. Sure it worked, but there were all sorts of glitches between it and the tablet I was using back then.

But whether it is improvements in the plugin software or perhaps the latest version of KSWeb itself, I am totally please with the results. It has cut my hacker registrations/malicious login attempt down to a mere trickle. I HIGHLY recommend this particular plugin!

Of course never one to do things halfway, I am also using SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam and Match Captcha! Yes, I know, it may make things difficult as far as comments and registrations go. But better you have to do math than Tim have to do a site rebuild.

New product to test very soon! 3 guesses why?

USB C to Standard USB adapter
USB C to Standard USB adapter

So today I ordered a 2 pack of these handy USB C to USB adapters. They were fairly inexpensive on Amazon and I should have them about in 4 days.

Now the real question is what the hell does he need one of those for, let alone 2?! So anyone care to hazard a guess? Okay. I don’t hear any guesses, so I guess I’ll have to explain why.

The answer is very simple the Asus Z580CA uses a USB C port and guess what my wireless mouse uses? If you guessed a standard USB port you win the prize! As for why get 2? Well that is the way they are packaged dummy!

So I will soon be able to fully exploit this powerful tablet in LogiTab mode! Fully exploiting my Logitech Bluetooth K480 keyboard and my Logitech M325 wireless mouse, in exactly the same way I current use my Dragon Touch X10 tablet.

The image below is what the smaller LogiTab will look like.

That pretty much covers it for this little article.

So what will my next Tablet be? Looks like it might be a Chuwi!

1452228623816649
At the time this article was written the price was $159!

Now there is no doubt that the Dragon Touch X10 is a great tablet and I am totally pleased with it.

However I am never through testing products out and so my search has begun.  The Chuwi  Hi10 is looking pretty good right now, because of an excellent display, 64 GB storage and 2 USB  ports with one being a 3.0 and a 10.1 inch display size. At this point I am only looking, so suggestions are welcome. Incidentally the Chuwi Hibook is now available for just $179 for the next few days on Gearbest! The specs are better and the cost is still super reasonable!

The bonus here is that this particular tablet is a dual boot with Windows 10 and Android! Now of course why would I need Windows, being that I simply tolerate it as a host for my primary Virtual Machine? Or why not just go full on Android? Well,  folks there is actually a reason for this and that is, I want to try running a virtual machine in Windows 10 on a tablet!

I understand that this seems to be complicating an already complex issue, but, hey, that is how we learn and see just how far we can push the envelope!

So your donations are always welcome! (Only half kidding here folks).

Just testing another Chat Plugin on the Tablet server here!

Screenshot_2016-05-04-22-14-37Tonight I installed a new chat plugin called RumbleTalk Chat on the little tablet server here. It appears to function although having just installed it I know little about it.

At this time to access it check the Menu at the top of the site and you will see a link to it.  This will probably be a short term test since no one participates on this site. But feel free to try it out! You do not need to login to the site here to use it nor do you have to login to the chat room itself you can simply click on guest.
