Category Archives: The Tablet Test Server News

My good friend Tim clued me in on this site, so I am saying hello!

tacos-joseI met Tim a few years back and he talked me into one of these super great tablets.

I guess there were issues with the email settings on the site, but now that I finally got registered, I am able to post and tell folks how fantastic it is to have one of these gizmos.

I don’t know everything it can do yet but I am happy to have purchased one!

Jose

(I don’t even like tacos, but that racist twit Tim insisted I insert one into my first post!)

I May Have Mentioned I Was Done Upgrading the DTX10/Logitab….I Lied…oops!

LogiTech? Of Course!
LogiTech? Of Course!

So in mid January I purchased a nifty little mouse off Amazon and was happy for roughly a week or so. I happened to drop it, a whopping 2 feet onto a carpeted floor and low in behold the issues started…

Do yourself a favor and do not purchase a wireless mouse for a buck ninety-five. Sure if you never drop it or it never got dropped during shipping it might just last you several years….on the other hand it could still work like mine does, except it keeps the goddamned tablet awake as the cursor moves around a bit.

My cure? Lesson learned! My replacement? Well the nickname for the setup I run is a LogiTab right? Yeah, my replacement was a Walmart purchased Logitech M325c wireless mouse. Works perfect AND came with a battery…did I mention it is like all other LogiTech products. that being built like a freaking tank!

Another gratuitous image of the new mouse….

Dragon Touch X10 Weekly Report

A Wireless Mouse? Oh hell yeah!
A Wireless Mouse? Oh hell yeah!

Another week has passed and it is once again time to talk about the Dragon Touch X10. As anyone who has visited this site knows the DTX10 is my favorite device because it gets the job done.

After several months of owning this tablet I am still happy with it. Along with a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and a mouse it makes a nice little tablet/notebook at less than half the cost of any combo you could buy from anyone else.

It has also proven itself to be quite the reliable little webserver. I charge it in the evenings and then it will run all day long long as a server and still have 10-12% battery left at the end of the day. Obviously it would last even longer if not for a software limitation that keeps the WiFi on ONLY when the screen is awake meaning I have to leave the screen on all day with Chrome running on the startup screen which is basically a black screen.

As I understand it, this issue has been fixed on the newer versions that have Android 5.0. Hopefully that is true because I am seriously considering getting one simply for the fact that that I won’t have to leave the device plugged in and charging so much.

Bottom line is that I still recommend this tablet to anyone wanting a very good, low cost, 10.6 inch tablet.

Today’s Productivity Report. Dragon Touch X10 Comes Through Again.

increase

So of course the server was down today, because I was using the tablet for its intended purpose.

I took it to the restaurant, edited my other web sites, created some posts and listened to some tunes and watched some videos. The battery life was excellent even with the minor issue I have noticed lately  which is the wireless mouse keeping the tablet awake. Not a big deal really, just hit the off button when not in use.

Upon arriving home I still had roughly 50% battery after 5-5.5 hrs of steady use. I really do love this tablet, especially for use as a small notebook along with my LogiTech K480 bluetooth keyboard and a mouse.

Yes you have probably been deleted…

A few minutes ago I had 19 users with editor rights on this site.

None of them contributed anything to the site and as I do every now and then, they have all been deleted.

If you register you damned well better participate with a comment or create a post…

That is all,
