Category Archives: The Tablet Test Server News

Tonight’s Post, a short video on how to run a WordPress update.

Yes, it is incredibly simply, but in case you don’t know how, watch learn, do. No music, no text overlays, no explaination needed.

You may note that the Dragon Touch comes with a built in screen recorder. Not something you will find on many tablets.

So you might be thinking why run a server of a tablet?

Question-MarkThe answer is simple! I use my tablet to test every damned thing that eventually shows up on my other WordPress sites! It’s also a handy way to communicate issues/news about my primary server.

The tablet can easily run for roughly 9 hrs on battery while I am out and about and posting like I am today!

Lastly the other reason to run a server on a tablet is BECAUSE YOU CAN!

MY OTHER SITES ON THE PRIMARY SERVER ARE GETTING AN UPDATE….SO FOR A FEW DAYS THIS WILL BE THE ONLY SERVER ONLINE IN THE EVENINGS.

So all the other sites I1-Server-Down run are going to be moving onto a new Virtual Server over the next several days and this site will be the only active one running most of the time in the evenings.

So the following sites will have some serious downtime:

  • Tim’s Tablet Web Site – tablets.yourfreewordpress.com
  • Your Free WordPress – yourfreewordpress.com
  • The Primary DragonTouchX10 Web Site – dragontouchx10.yourfreewordpress.com

…and a few other associated test sites that I run.

Tim

Another Saturday, another post about the Dragon Touch X10

The server and the ME572c
The server and the ME572c

The difference today is that while this post will eventually end up on the DragonTouchx10  website, I am writing this using my Asus Me572 directly onto the Dragon Touch X10 powered web server that is sitting 30 miles away.

I continue to be impressed at how well this server runs! No glitches so far. No it is not the be all, end all, server solution, but it runs damned great!

So if it can do this imagine how well it can run your normal Android apps.

It’s Thursday and here is another post about my little test server.

1126306_fuel_gaugeSo as I always do on Thursdays I post something to my dragontouch website. Today I have chosen to write the post on the actual dragontouch test server.

Since I am home all day today I chose to leave The Server active for the entire day. I’ve left the server in “never sleep” today. So far after being on for 5 solid hours it is still at 70% battery.

Not too bad for a relatively inexpensive 10.6 inch tablet. I did however unplug the mouse and turn off the Bluetooth keyboard.  Because I have to leave the machine awake, the screen has been active all day so that the tablet does not go to sleep and lose Wi-Fi connection. So this is a pretty good test of battery life on this tablet. I activated The Server this morning around 10:30 a.m. and it’s now 3:50 p.m. so that is pretty good battery life as far as I’m concerned.

A quick update here, it is now 5 pm and the Tablet is still at 50%. That’s 6.5 hrs of solid running.
