I Was Looking To See What The Xiaomi Mi A3 Might Be Like And Ran Across The Mi A2 Still On Sale

I was looking this evening for some info on the Xiaomi Mi A3 which I am sure is set to be released shortly but aside from some crap render video on YouTube I did not find much, so I decided to check out Gearbest and see if they had a pre-sale going.

There was nothing on Gearbest nor a few other sites I checked, however I did notice that last years Mi A2 was still on sale for a mere $209!

The sale is good for about 1 more day, depending on when you read this, but this is a great phone and I finally added it to my 2018 list of budget smartphones worth buying late last year.

This is a full HD phone (2160 x 1080p) and has a great camera. But don’t take my word for it, poke around the internet and search a bit.

Just don’t take too long, because the sale will be over shortly!

I did a video on this which you can view below…

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: Have An Old Phone With A Large Battery Use It As a Portable Powerpack!

Tonight we have a very short video explaining that any old smartphone with a large 4000-5000 mAh battery makes a decent charger for devices such as headphones, that is all I have tonight. Video quality was poor and I apologize, but with no power you resort to your backup plan.

The other evening I needed to charge up my handy Mpow H7 headphones and decided to see if the old Blu Studio Energy 2 was up to the task.

It worked like a champ and charged the headphones in no time flat.

Today’s Video Worth Sharing: What To Do With An LT 2016u Netbook?

Originally posted 2018-06-23 12:50:45.

Gateway LT2016u

This video comes to us from none other than….US! I am sorry, the video is rather long and a bit rambling, but it does show that even some old equipment may be useful for something.

I actually got up very early this morning and brought along my trusty flash drive and got a newer version of Firefox to work on this ancient dinosaur! So we now have a functional Windows XP, (32 bit) spare PC for use as, uh, well, perhaps a web browsing device.

However with the 1024 x 600 display, we are not talking a great experience. The speakers also stink but if you plug in some external one the sound is excellent.

But hopefully folks will leave some comments on the YouTube channel suggesting to us what this thing might be good for. After all, a functional 10.1 inch notebook (yeah, I know, netbook), with WiFi, 3 full size USB 2.0 ports and reasonable battery life, along with a surprisingly huge hard drive (160 GB), is simply not something to toss in the trash.

So below you will find the video, sorry I sound tired but it was about 1 AM when I finally had reached my conclusions on what to do with this thing…

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: Smartphones Are Not Media Consumption Devices!

Smartphones are NOT media consumption devices! They are simply a last resort when you do not have a handy tablet or television

It is just that simple and please quit using the term “media consumption device”. Instead let us go with, the best thing I have handy.

The image above illustrates this quite nicely! A dinky smartphone versus a 12 in tablet.  Boom, the tablet wins! On the other hand if you have a 40-50 inch TV,   the tablet gets crushed.

It is all a matter of perspective. However neither the smartphone, nor the tablet has proper sound for movies, which is where headphones or earbuds come into play.

Below is the video, please share it everywhere and maybe even subscribe.
