This post is probably necessary everywhere, but in Western Kentucky it should be a MUST READ!

This is the turn signal stick!
This is the turn signal stick!

So you have been driving a car for several years and you always have wondered why the head lights were activated by a switch on a stalk rather than a normal switch on the dash.

Well morons….there is a reason. You see you can push that stalk (lever/stick) up or down and magically your DAMNED turn signal lights will blink, thereby warning the folks behind you that you intend to turn or change lanes! For the clueless twits amongst you, it is a law that you must indicate your intentions to adjust lane position or turn, well before you actually get to the point where you will perform such an action. Hence the name turn “signals”! Slamming on your brakes to make a turn and THEN turning on your signal is not only unacceptable/stupid and rude, it is illegal!

So now a simple explanation, especially written for the drivers in Western Kentucky…that little lever on the left side of 95% of all cars on the road needs you to move it either up, or down! Up for right, down for left. I know, this is an amazing revelation to you crackerheads, but that is how simple it is!

One more bit of advice, you need to do this every single time you’re turning left or right, whether it is from a driveway, into a driveway or just changing lanes. It really isn’t that hard to remember and if you have fingers on your left hand there simply is no excuse!

You may now return to your normal web surfing….
