Why Our Server Needs Cable Internet

Tonight we have a video I was hoping not to make! But the simple fact is we need higher quality video content in order to attract new subscribers! Currently I am stuck using my phone for internet and this has become unacceptable! So we are actually asking for folks to donate a small amount of money towards the cause or subscribe and spread the word. The link to donate is listed below. Everything today was shot on the Alcatel 7 so if you have access to Metro (T-Mobile) make sure to check them out!

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing, The Chuwi SurBook Mini Full Review

Originally posted 2018-01-30 17:56:03.

This evening’s video comes to us from Chris over at TechTablets and covers the Chuwi SurBook Mini tablet PC.

This is a 10.8 inch tablet with the following specs:

  • Display- fully laminated, 1920 x1280
  • Intel Celeron N3450 Apollo Lake CPU
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 64 GB on-board eMMC 5.1
  • microSD slot, supports up to 128 GB
  • 2 full size USB 3.0 ports
  • 1 USB-C 3.0 port
  • option keyboard/cover
  • stylus support, but very low end
  • 8000 mAh battery

For me this one isn’t a whole lot better than my little Chuwi HiBook. Sure, it has the better processor, but  the display isn’t much better, 1920 x 1200 versus 1920 x 1280.  If you can still find a HiBook or HiBook Pro, buy it!

However I digress a bit, considering the point of this post is to share the video and let you decide!

So let us get right to the video.

This product is currently available at Gearbest for $274.

That is all for now,

Tim

Today’s Video Worth Sharing: T-Bao Tbook X85 Pro – Simply Not a Great Notebook/Laptop At All

Originally posted 2018-02-24 13:16:09.

Today we have a video from Chris over at TechTablets and as usual it is brutally honest and this particular device simply doesn’t fulfill any sort of niche whatsoever!

This is supposed to be a budget gaming notebook but fails on graphics, build quality and everything except the SSD drive.

But of course it might be of interest to some folks or then again, probably not.

On paper it appears to be an okay device, but when reality sets in, it just isn’t up to the task of gaming at all and that would be the only reason to even consider this notebook.

So a big thanks to Chris for pointing out all the shortcomings and being honest as to the faults on this one! Make sure to check out his YouTube channel for all kinds of great reviews on all sorts of tech stuff.

That is all I have for now except for the usual request to either register and write a post or to donate to this site,

Tim

A Very Decent 10.1 Inch Tablet at a Great Price: Cube iWork10 Ultimate

Originally posted 2017-03-03 04:52:45.

Cube iWork10, not too bad

I have noticed that both of the major Chinese retailers are pushing Cube devices this month and I decided to poke around a bit. After about an hour of reading specs, and looking at videos I finally found a great deal for folks interested in the 10 inch class tablets!

The Cube iWork10 is a fairly decent dual-boot tablet PC at a super low price of $154! Sure, the HiBook Pro is a better device, but if you just want a super good, dual boot, 10.1 inch tablet and are on a budget, then this one may be the best deal for you. That price certainly leaves room left in the budget to get the optional keyboard or get a nice Bluetooth K480 Logitech (I know it is still available).

The specs on this device are as follows:

  • Intel Z8300 Quad Core @1.44GHz
  • 64 GB on-board storage
  • Dual boot Win 10/Android 5.1
  • microSD support up to 128 GB
  • 1920 x 1200 IPS display
  • 1 USB 2.0, 1  USB-C, 1 x HDMI
  • 7500 mAh battery

I did in fact find a video review for your entertainment …

That is all for this evening,

Tim

Tonight’s Second Video Worth Sharing: Screen Captures Not Full Size? Add Some Borders!

Originally posted 2018-12-23 01:23:08.

Tonight we have a short tutorial on Openshot and The Gimp. Sometimes your screen capture program will not output the size you would like. Many times it will use the resolution of your monitor and not the exact size that is ideal.

The GPU generally uses the res provided to the monitor and therefore you may end up with some strange sizes as I do with 1152 x 720 being the output.

Of course when editing the video everything ends up restricted by this size limitation and you end up with some black bars on either side of the video.

This video describes how to get rid of those black bars with a simple background image with the actual video size made transparent inside the background image.

So let us get right to the video!

That is all for now, except please subscribe to our channel or click those big donation buttons on the website here!
